We would like to inform you that Tresses Salon will be temporarily relocating to a new address as our permanent location undergoes extensive renovations.  Unfortunately, due to unforeseen delays in the renovation process, we will be operating from this temporary location for the next couple of months.

Our commitment to providing exceptional service  remains, and we assure you this temporary location will not impact our ability to serve you efficiently.  We have worked diligently to ensure a smooth transition, and we are confident that we will continue seamlessly during this period.

Effective November 1st, 2023 our temporary address will be at 170 North Queen Suite #3 (Dollarama Plaza).

PLEASE UPDATE your records accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. Our phone numbers, email addresses, and website will remain unchanged, ensuring uninterrupted communication with us.  We kindly request your patience and understanding during this transitional phase.

While we are excited about the renovations that will enhance our facilities and improve our services, we understand that change can be sometimes challenging.  Rest assured we are doing everything possible to minimize any disruption in order to maintain the level of service you have come to expect from us.

Core Competencies

  • Up to date knowledge of current trend in fashion and how to achieve the associated looks via coloring, cutting, and styling techniques
  • Time management including the efficient conducting of all services with respect to the clients time and the salon’s schedule

  • Variety of communication skills including communications with individuals whose first language may not be English
  • As we service an extremely multinational clientele, we must maintain the ability to assess and effectively implement styles and routines for clients with a variety of hair types, lifestyles, and budgets
  • Thorough knowledge of tool maintenance, including cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection
  • Basic knowledge of the operation of computers and technology
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and simple fashion photography

Job Duties

  • Cut and shape client’s hair using a variety of tools and cutting/styling techniques
  • Provide clients with colouring, highlighting and colour correction services
  • Provide a thorough consultation and solidify a clear mutual understanding with a client’s verbal confirmation prior to conducting any service
  • Assist with scheduling/reviewing client bookings as well as promoting new bookings
  • Assist with services being provided by any and all staff members in order to facilitate the best client experience possible and promote a team environment
  • Promote retail sales by making effective recommendations based on individual needs and properly demonstrating the use of each product during a service
  • Daily tasks including cleaning workstations, hair washing sinks, bathrooms, color area, the hair salon and other equipment
  • Establish trust and confidence in order to promote recurring business relationships with every client
  • Maintain a stylish, clean, and professional appearance while representing Tresses
  • Employees are expected to arrive prior to their shift start time in order to be prepared to receive clients who may be scheduled at that time
  • Employees are expected to meet minimum sales goals for services and retail products set out based on their individual level of experience
  • Help to maintain the salons brand through a social media presence, including but not limited to taking photos/videos of staff performing services within the salon on a daily basis
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training as well as attending staff meetings 
  • Assist the salon with merchandising and inventory control as needed
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Perform ancillary duties as they arise in support of the business

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Valid Ontario Hairstyling License
